Located halfway between Buffalo and Rochester, Tim Benson has been making and restoring uilleann pipes professionally since 2006 (see Bio).
My instruments are based on historical originals that have been adapted to modern standards established by today’s finest living makers. My goal is to satisfy popular demands of intonation and tone through a wholistic, comfortable experience of playing the pipes.
The standard design I have adopted is simple and free of non-essentials, reducing cost and wait time, and ensuring adequate attention to the most important part of the uilleann pipes - the reeds.
Quarter sawn Douglas fir is the material of choice for all double reeds.
